Trade Promotion Council for Geo-Space Industry (TPCGI) is the not-for-profit apex body representing the interests of geospatial industry in India and works towards the advancement of geospatial technologies and its applications. TPCGI is a very strong platform for exchanging ideas, techniques, approaches, and experiences by those who design, implement, and use geospatial technology solutions. The Major objective of TPCGI is to accelerate the adoption of geospatial industry in India and to ensure that government, industry, academia, and society as a whole understand both the needs of this industry and its contribution to the nation’s development.
The primary challenges are keeping up with multiple policy initiatives and giving policymakers a collective view. These needs are being addressed by the Policy Development & Advocacy Committee.
Collaboration with relevant industries is essential to the success of the global economy. TPCGSI works towards creating collaborative partnerships and enabling geospatial information exchange
Governments need to collaborate with commercial players in order to meet the growing demand for geospatial services and infrastructure. TPCGSI is currently working to define the scope of Public-Private partnerships and possible business models.
The demand for geospatial professionals in the digital age is increasing. There is also a growing gap between industry needs and educational programs. TPCGSI works to improve collaboration between academic institutions and the geospatial sector in order to create modern educational programs.
